Thus began my Monday morning, and I'm hoping that it has not set a precedence for the rest of my day! All of the quick oats in this house will be disposed of posthaste...no matter how free w/coupons they were! Groooossss! Old Fashion Quaker buddy, my main man, I love you...and you don't make my stomach quake. I'll be by to pick you up this afternoon!
Ah, but I did not come here to talk about slimy oats- although I do feel somewhat better for having gotten the issue out of my system. No, I want to talk about dinner parties. An occasion I have not had the privilege to put on for 30 some years. I love to throw dinner parties! Years ago (in my early twenties) I had them on a regular basis. I know you may be surprised because I never throw them now. That's because my house in not dinner party friendly- too small, too...well, it's just not, trust me on this one. But... if I had a house that was, I'd be having dinner parties every chance I got. I like to dream about them sometimes. What would I cook? Who would I invite? When? Dream, dream, dream. So, with that in mind. I thought I'd have a bit of fun today and ask you a dinner party question.
K, here's the deal: Your having the ultimate dinner party, and only six people can come. These six people have either had a great influence on you, are someone you admire, or they may just be someone whose brain you'd like to pick. They can be authors, teachers, presidents, first ladies, preachers, Bible characters, family members...etc. etc.,you get the picture. Next to their names you can write the reason why you invited them if you want.
Here's my guest list:
The six people attending my ultimate dinner party:
- Jesus (The questions I have for him are endless!)
- Ellie Krieger (A healthy version of the Pioneer Woman. I want Ellie to cook the dinner.)
- Apostle Peter (Me and him got a lot in common. I wanna find out more about him than what's in The Book.)
- My Dad (I always loved picking his brain! I miss him horribly.)
- My nephew Rick. (Gotta have some humor here folks! Plus, he's a lot like my dad)
- Nona Freeman (Maybe she could rub off on me a bit.)
OK, now it your turn. Who's the who at your ultimate dinner party?
1 Comments:
1. Mary - the mother of Jesus, I want to know what Jesus was like as a boy.
2. Andrea Bocelli - and he can sing for his supper.
3. Agatha Christie - I so admire her work.
4. Lydia Bastianich - she will cook the best Italian dinner and tell us all about Italy.
5. Ryan & Sara....they are married so they count as one (and Lydia is in the kitchen anyway)
6. My sister Susan...she would love all of these people, too.
