Don't Mind Me...

I'm just talkin' to myself.
 ~~~~~~
I just finished reading Rory a story about Nero the pig, who is a bully, and also, who wouldn't listen to his scoutmaster and ended up setting the forest on fire. There was a part in the story that really stood out to me. It's the part where Nero is griping about having to go on the dumb camping trip in the first place- it says:
"Isn't it funny how people are different? On the one hand, the buddies (monkey, duck and rabbit) loved everything about scouting and this trip was a real adventure. On the other hand, Nero Hogwash hated everything about scouting. And what's amazing, when you step back and look real close, is that the folks who resist and resent and gripe are the folks who need a thing the most."
I've heard it said that the things you don't like, or have a hard time dealing with in others, are the very things you don't like about, or struggle with yourself... and I have found that to be true. And while I would never "set a forest on fire" (not intentionally) rebel (by the grace of God) against the authority that's in my life, I find myself griping about a lot of issues here, and resenting them for the trouble they've caused me. This blog has been my sounding board, and it's the truth, I've really have been...just talkin' to myself.
Mirror, mirror on the wall,
I am myself, after all.
