OK, Ima preach atcha...but only because I loves ya...

I was going to say FOR LADIES ONLY, but then decided to direct this post at the men who read this blog too because they're worse than the women about these things! (sorry guys you know I love ya, but it's the truth anyhow. ;-)

I just had to "spank" my sister because she was whining about having to have some check-ups and blood-work done today and, that she has to have another procedure done come Monday. I adore my big sister and I want her to be around for as long as possible, so I'm ecstatic that she is having these tests done! Love you sis!

That said: let me just keep this short and sweet, and say it as nicely as I know how:
I used to be adamant about not wanting to have certain procedures done. Didn't give a lot of thought as to the consequences of not doing so, but not anymore. Sign. Me. Up! After having watched my father suffer a painful and humiliating death from cancer and, having to take my mother to the oncologist month, after month, after month, for breast cancer treatments (will have to for the rest of her life.) After hearing about the horrific pain my sister-in-law suffered before she died of cancer. After losing loved ones and friends to heart attacks, strokes, and other various (preventable) ailments, I submit to you, that preventative testings, though often embarrassing and uncomfortable, are a "walk in the park" by comparison.

One of the saddest things about this, is that most of these people never had the tests needed on a regular basis that could possibly have saved their lives. Please try to avoid being a statistic... Get 'em done!
With much love, Caroline :o)

Have a healthy and happy weekend!

Yep, yep, yep! I agree 100% with this. Don't like the tests, but I have them all anyway. It's a good feeling when you get a letter in the mail, "the results of your test show no signs..." No news is not good news.

This is so true. The hardest deaths to deal with are the ones that most likely could have been prevented.
